Nurseify launched with a simple but powerful observation โ healthcare facilities across the US were spending days filling temporary nurse shifts through phone calls, staffing agencies and email chains, while thousands of experienced nurses sat available but invisible to those same facilities.
The founding team had deep experience in healthcare staffing. They understood the problem on both sides โ facilities drowning in unfilled shifts, nurses wanting more control over their schedule and earning potential. What they didn't have was a platform to connect them.
They came to us with a clear brief: build a marketplace that makes finding and booking a qualified nurse as fast and simple as booking a ride. Mobile-first, real-time, and trusted by both sides of the market.
A broken process on both sides of the market

Facilities waited days to fill urgent shifts
When a facility needed a nurse for tomorrow's shift, the process was: call an agency, wait for the agency to find someone, verify credentials, confirm availability โ often taking 24โ48 hours for something that should take minutes.

Nurses had no visibility over opportunities
Qualified nurses wanting extra shifts had no way to discover what was available near them, matching their specialty and schedule. Opportunities existed but the connection wasn't happening.

Existing tools weren't built for mobile healthcare workers
Nurses are on the move. Existing platforms were desktop-first, clunky on mobile and required extensive profiles to even browse available shifts. The user experience drove nurses away before they could be matched.

Intelligent Matching Engine
The platform surfaces the most relevant nurses for each shift based on specialty, experience level, location, availability, rating history and credential status. Facilities see ranked matches โ not a list of everyone available.
Credential Verification System
Every nurse uploads their RN licence, specialty certifications, BLS/ACLS and insurance documents. The platform verifies, tracks expiry dates and alerts nurses before documents lapse. Facilities see a verified badge โ no manual checking required.
In-App Messaging
Direct messaging between facilities and nurses for shift clarifications, directions and updates โ all within the platform. No personal phone numbers shared. Full audit trail of all communications for compliance.
Clock-In / Clock-Out & Timesheets
GPS-verified clock-in and clock-out from the nurse mobile app. Digital timesheet automatically generated after each shift. Manager approval from the facility dashboard. Payment triggered on approval.
Integrated Payment Processing
Stripe-powered payments with automatic disbursement to nurses within 2โ3 days of shift completion. Facilities billed automatically. No invoices, no chasing, no disputes. Both sides trust the platform to handle the money.
Ratings & Review System
Two-way ratings after every shift โ facilities rate nurses, nurses rate facilities. The matching engine learns from this over time, prioritising high-rated pairings. Better experiences compound with every shift completed.

Week 3Backend & Matching Engine First
Built the core matching logic, credential verification system and payment infrastructure before any front-end work. Getting the engine right first meant the apps could be built faster on top of a solid foundation.
Weeks 4โ8Parallel App & Dashboard Build
